Submitted Question: I’m currently sleeping with two guys. Should I tell them about each other?
While there is nothing wrong with having multiple sexual partners, I do believe that it requires a certain level of honesty. I personally don’t think it’s unfair of me to expect my sexual partner to let me know if they’re sleeping with other people.
Some people try to justify not telling their sexual partners by claiming that it’s not harming anyone since they’re being safe by using condoms or other forms of protection. And some people feel that they don’t owe disclosing such information if they are not in a committed relationship.
But whether or not you’re in an exclusive relationship, you owe it to your sexual partners to be honest about your sexual history and habits. After all, condoms can break and not everyone is okay with having multiple sexual partners.
You don’t need to name names or anything like that. You can simply say something along the lines of “I am currently sleeping with X number of people and I am using protection (or not using protection). Is this something you’re okay with?” Whether they’re okay with it or not should not be an issue. The point is that you let them know and now they can decide if they’d still like to have a sexual relationship with you.
